Schlumberger Interview For Drilling Engineer

Schlumberger Interview For Drilling Engineer

These 3 wells have been drilled with a mud of specific gravity of 1.25 gr/cm3 in which well A,B or C will the highest hydrostatic bottom hole pressure be recorded

a. Well A

b. Well B

c. Well C

d. All three will have equal bottom hole pressure

Look to this picture and answer which well A,B,C will the highest hydrostatic bottom hole pressure be recorded

Answer

First

Hydrostatic pressure = 0.52 X Mud Density X TVD

052 :Constant Factore

The True Vertical Depth TVD : this the depth measure from the bottom of the hole straight up to the surface of hole = the hight of the fluid column

The Measure Depth MD : this is measure lenght of tubing or true depth which required to reach the bottom of the well

U can convert g/cm3 to ppg 👌 1 ppg = 0,12 g/cm3 Any way they have the same mud weight and only depend on TVD as i said

so

True answer

All three will have equal bottom hole pressure

because three wells have the same True Vertical Depth TVD and Hydrostatic Pressure HD depend on  True vertical depth not on Measuerd depth and this angle don't affect on the pressure Value
and bottom hole pressure not depend the shape of wells
Hd=0.52*Mud Density*TVd
Another answer

D because weight is based off of gravity and it doesn’t matter how many crooks and turns they have they’re actually the same depth

Hydrostatic pressure goes off total vertical depth so they look to be the same answers D

Thanks
